Why am I developping OCD tendencies?
I am not seriously concerned, but curious. I had very mild OCD when I was a teen (although I never went to a doctor; I'm saying this because I felt the need to touch things a certain amount of times, or move my body a certain way until it felt "even" with the other side)
Anyway, For the past year I've become fixated on not wasting things. For example, I work as a receptionist at a small business, and we generate A LOT of scrap paper. It doesn't get recycled, although the blank side does get used for jotting on. During my shifts, I have to use every square inch of this scrap paper, or it bothers me. At home, I will use a certain product until it's done, even if I don't like it (dish detergent, makeup remover, cheese, lotion, you name it).
There hasn't been any MAJOR changes in my life, just the regular stresses of life; I'm in my mid twenties and anxious to plot a path for myself, but it's hardly "stressful".
There's a chemical imbalance in your brain. That's why people get prescribed anti-depressants for help with their OCD.
I'm like that too. I have to use something until it's gone, I have to read something all the way through, etc. I believe it's from insecurities in the females life and mind. Insecurities/feeling insecure can start during the late teen years (usually 17 or 18) and range/go to mid 20's or early 30's. Most women feel insecure when they need to find who they are, where they belong in life, what they need to do, what society wants them to do, relationships, etc. Once you settle down (find who you are, get married, etc.) this should stop or subside some. If you find it taking over your life, go to a psychiatrist/psychologist or an OCD counselor.
I have personal experience with this.
